The media in Thailand is a sector that is both active and diversified.
There are over 30 daily and bi-weekly newspapers, three of which
are published in English (Bangkok Post, The Nation and Business
Day). The circulation of local dailies is relatively high, from 280,000 copies for political and economic news
(Poodjadkarn, Matichon)
to over 1,000,000 copies for general information (Thai Rath, Daily News). In addition, there are over 150 monthly and fortnightly
magazines.
The audiovisual sector consists of almost 500 radio stations, 6 local TV stations (Channels 3, 5, 7, 9,
11 and ITV), plus UBC, a cable and satellite TV network available
to subscribers. The number of people with access to the Internet
stands at 2.5 million users and it is steadily increasing.
Thailand is a country where both local and foreign companies can
implement effective communications campaigns, supported by true
professionalism and modern technical means.
